Larry Hilsheimer
Larry Hilsheimer is the Incoming Executive Vice President and CFO of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. He will begin his new endeavor in mid-October.
Previously, Larry was the Vice Chairman and Managing Partner of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP for the SCS North Central Region. Larry rose to the elite position of Vice Chairman of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, one of only 20 or so vice chairmen in an organization encompassing 40,000 persons in 90 offices across the country. Larry headed Deloitte’s Columbus office and served as regional and national leader for the Deloitte U.S. firms.
After joining the Deloitte organization’s Columbus office in 1978 as a first-year staffer, Larry was promoted to Tax Senior, to Manager, to Senior Manager, to Partner, to Managing Partner for the Columbus office Tax Practice, to National Managing Partner for Tax Services to the Real Estate Industry, to Managing Partner in Charge of the Columbus office (all services), to Regional Managing Partner for 8 city offices (including Columbus) to Vice Chairman for the Deloitte U.S. Firms.
Larry guided Deloitte to the dominant market position in Columbus. Deloitte is by far the largest accounting/consulting firm in Central Ohio as confirmed by Business First’s annual book of lists, a perch Deloitte held throughout Larry’s ten years as leader of the Columbus office.
Under Larry’s leadership, the Columbus office overachieved in receiving a number of major community awards. In May of 2007, Deloitte received United Way’s Community Impact Award, the highest award it bestows to a company for excellence in supporting United Way and community service. A similar milestone came in 2005 when Deloitte was named Benefactor of the Year by Columbus Business First. Deloitte was also named a Best Place to Work by Business First in 2005 and 2006. All of these accomplishments reflect Larry’s commitment to shape an office that gives back to the community.

Larry and his wife Cindy reside in New Albany. They are parents to Lauren, Kristina, and Jon Michael.
